What are the Things you should know about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
The rock and roll hall of fame or rock hall is a hall of fame and museum situated in Ohio, Cleveland, United States. The museum includes a collection of historical items associated with rock music and artists, engineers, producers, and notable celebrities who have shaped its development. Ahmet Ertegun founded the Rock and Hall of Fame on April 20, 1983.
The building includes seven levels. The lowest level is the Ahmet M. Ertegun
Exhibition Hall, which is the museum's main gallery. It exhibits the roots of
various rock and roll genres like blues, folk, bluegrass, country, gospel,
along with rhythm & blues. It also displays the cities having a major
effect on rock and roll like San Francisco, New York, Liverpool, London,
Detroit, Memphis, and Seattle.
It
features exhibits related to Sun Records, soul music, Cleveland's rock and roll
legacy, the Fifties, and hip-hop music. Besides, it also exhibits dee-jays,
music of the Midwest, and several protests against the rock and roll genre. The
hall's gallery also exhibits individual and popular music artists like Jimi
Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc. Eventually, the Ahmet M. Ertegun
Exhibition Hall comprises a theatre that displays films on different subjects
like American Bandstand. The museum's first floor includes the entrance door.
It
comprises a stage, a café used by the museum to display special events and
performances throughout the year. It also includes a segment that is known as
"backstage stories." Besides, the second floor includes numerous
interactive kiosks. The kiosks feature programs associated with the music that shaped
rock and roll and one-hit wonders. The second level comprises a gallery that
exhibits artifacts associated with Alan Freed, Sam Phillips, and Les Paul and
the emergence of audio technologies. Eventually, the top levels of the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame features temporary and large exhibits.
